Don is a nature photographer whose passion is photographing wildlife. He loves a great mountain scene but having a bird or animal in the same scene truly completes it, by making the statement, “this is nature.” While Don has loved photography most of his life, his passion really began with the advent of digital photography in the early 2000s. His main interest at that time was photographing sporting dog competitive events.

Don has led numerous photo tours to places such as Yellowstone, the Badlands, and Bosque del Apache. He has been published in Springer’s in the Field magazine, the AKC magazine and Midwest Outdoors.
He is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) Board of Directors, a past chair of the NANPA College Scholarship Program and the Regional Events Committee.

Don is a retired university professor who is taking photographs full time while traveling around the country with his wife and springer spaniel in their RV.
